Drum beating on the beach – On Sundays, drum circles tend to form at around 6 pm at Siesta Key Beach and on Saturdays, they gather at Casey/Nokomis Beach. You can join in or just appreciate the rhythm and dancers that often appear.

Visit the Florida Maritime Museum – You can get your history fix by visiting the Maritime museum and learning about the Cortezians and their culture and survival. It is very interesting and will fascinate even the little ones.
Dig for shark’s teeth – Caspersen Beach is known to have prehistoric shark teeth buried underneath its sands. Go to the beach and dig for your very own tooth to make your next funky necklace or bracelet with.
Visit the Museum of Art – The Ringling Museum of Art opens its exhibitions to the public for free on Mondays. Feed your soul and inner artist by visiting the museum and seeing some beautiful pieces.
Have a beach day – The beaches are after all what Florida is most famous for. Take a day off from tourist sites and just relax on one of the beautiful beaches.
